Popis: | We report on nonresonant nanophotoluminescence spectra of CdSe/ZnSe self-assembled quantum dots obtained through a series of apertures ranging in area from 21.8 to 0.006 \ensuremath{\mu}${\mathrm{m}}^{2}$. Spectra exhibit narrow peaks with \ensuremath{\sim}250-\ensuremath{\mu}eV linewidths superimposed on a broad feature with a \ensuremath{\sim}40-meV width. The broad feature is observed even at the smallest aperture sizes. Monte Carlo simulations are used to investigate the roles of both the broad and sharp peaks in the CdSe dot emission spectra. The spectra and a quantitative analysis support the physical picture of a self-assembled quantum dot with two distinct electronic states. |
