Popis: A traditional medical school curriculum does not formally prepare physicians to participate in evaluation of safety and effectiveness after medications enter the market. This article provides examples where ultrasound has unrealized potential as a noninvasive tool for longitudinal assessment of drug safety and effectiveness in the real-world. The examples are intended to sensitize medical schools and medical students to opportunities for physicians to advance therapeutic evaluation of drugs as they are used for approved and unapproved indications in actual practice.
