Popis: | In recent years, as bicycle delivery services and shared bicycles have become popular, an increase in the simultaneous use of bicycles and smartphones has been observed. Thus, collisions of pedestrians and cars have increased, becoming a social problem. The cause of this problem is considered to be the reduced attention span caused by gazing at a smartphone, which requires the development of a safe driving support system to prevent accidents. In this study, as a preliminary step toward the development of a system, we first examined the effects of looking at a smartphone on the attention span of bicyclists. The results indicated that looking at a smartphone reduced subjective attention, but there was no correlation between the distance between the appearance of a pedestrian and the collision. |
