Popis: Reducing CO2 emissions and cutting fuel consumption demands the decrease of vehicle weight. Extensive light-weight construction is a key element in these efforts. A passenger car’s suspension accounts for a significant share of its total weight, so components such as shock absorbers and dampers, suspension springs and stabilizer bars have great potential when it comes to applying light-weight construction methods. ThyssenKrupp Bilstein Suspension offers comprehensive concepts for light-weight chassis design and presents here realizable weight savings. In a mid-size vehicle a maximum savings potential of about 7 kg could be achieved.
