An extended discussion is presented of the absolute absorption area method (AAAM) for measuring the Debye-Waller factor f of Mossbauer isotopes, the line widths of which are much greater than that of 57Fe. The problems arising from the determination of the absorption area and of the baseline are thoroughly examined by means of a theoretical analysis of the shape of the absorption spectrum. The 151Eu in EBCO is used to illustrate the proposed method. |
