Symmetrical, non-progressive, essential telangiectasia, beginning at puberty and confined to the breasts, occurred in a 35-year-old woman with concurrent, recurrent aphthous stomatitis and recently identified hypersplenism. Biopsy of the telangiectatic skin showed many dilated capillary vessels in the papillary dermis. A review of the literature on telangiectasia failed to reveal a similar case. It is not known to what degree, if any, the telangiectasia, stomatitis, and hypersplenism may be related. |
