In this study, we plan to examine spontaneous and internally motivated deception as an unfolding process comprising of different phases (e.g., planning, evaluation, decision making and implementation), supported by a set of distinct neurocognitive mechanisms. To assess their role and importance, neurophysiological and behavioural markers will be measured and investigated. Moreover, the relationship between characteristics of deception and different cognitive abilities and inter-individual differences in personality traits will be explored. |
