Popis: Nanostructured Cu-W composites i.e. a mixture of nanometer-sized Cu and W crystallites were prepared by means of an inert gas condensation technique . Structural investigations indicated that the cyrstallite size of the Cu crystallites depends on the content of W and that the atomic arrangements in the Cu/W interfaces differ from the ones in Cu/Cu grain boundaries. Stabilization of a fine crystallite size in the 10 nm range was demonstrated to be possible in nanostructured Cu-W composites up to 500°C. The density of the composites is enhanced relative to single component nanostructured materials.
