Popis:	In the second part of this review on silicon carbide fibres, the chemical properties of SiC relevant to the use of SiC fibres as a reinforcement in metal matrix composite materials are reviewed. Particular attention is paid to the oxidation of SiC, and to the interaction of SiC with metals and alloys with respect to chemical interactions and fibre/matrix bonding.
