Popis:	The depletion zone caused by the loss of Li from the surface of a complex commercial Al-Li based alloy by heating in air in the temperature range 573 to 873 K has been measured microscopically. The growth kinetics follow the equation x 2 = kt with k = 1.58 × 10 −6 exp (−99500/ RT ) m 2 s −1 .
