Posterolateral rotatory instability (PLRI) involves an avulsion of the lateral collateral ligament complex, including the lateral ulnar collateral ligament. It is usually caused by a traumatic simple dislocation but can also be iatrogenic after surgery on the lateral elbow. If conservative treatment fails, surgery may be indicated. The ligament is classically reinserted or reconstructed with an open procedure, but arthroscopic treatment is gaining popularity. In this chapter we present our arthroscopic imbrication technique to treat posterolateral rotatory instability. Results are generally excellent with low complication rates or recurrence of instability. |
