Popis: Catherine Aird is best known for some twenty novels featuring Inspector C. D. Sloan, several volumes of short stories and local histories relating to villages on the outskirts of Canterbury, Kent. Aird was educated at Waverley School and Greenhead High School Huddersfield before moving with her parents to Kent in 1946. She worked for many years as a doctor’s receptionist for her father in the community where she still lives. This continuity gives her insights into human life and medical details, which she draws on in her crime writing.
