Repeating patterns of amino acid residues in the suequences of some high sulphur proteins from α-keratin

Popis:	The amino acid sequences of sulphur-rich proteins derived from the matrix substance of wool keratin have been analysed for internal and external homologies, and the nature of the repeating patterns residues has been investigated in the proteins termed B2A and BIIIA3. The Fourier transform method was used to identify preferred positions in the pentapeptide periodicity that exists in these materials and the structural and functional implications of the results are discussed.
