The microdetermination of cyanide or thiocyanate and in the presence of one another

Popis:	A new titrimetric method for the microdetermination of cyanide or thiocyanate and in presence of each other is reported. The mechanism of the reactions in dilute alkaline or acid medium is discussed. The determination is done within the limits of 10 mg to 100 μg and gives satisfactory results, since the experimental error does not exceed ±2.5%. Comparative analysis of cyanide or thiocyanate by the proposed method and the respective silver nitrate method or potassium bromate method is shown. The method has been applied successfully to determine microquantities as low as 100 μg of cyanide in blood.
