Popis: This chapter invites you to listen in on an imagined therapeutic interview between a personified Brain with an acquired brain injury (ABI) and a narrative therapist. The Brain has sought help for low mood and a sense of defectiveness since their injury. Such emotional-cognitive difficulties are very common after ABI. The chapter compresses some key therapeutic aspects of the narrative process into one stylised episode. Two stages will be illustrated: the deconstruction of the dominant story/identity and the reconstruction of alternative preferred story/identity. By putting narrative process into action, it is hoped that readers will find these concepts more accessible for their own clinical practice. An appendix is provided to show the theory-practice links.
