Report of a case marshall syndrome in Western Azerbaijan

Popis: Background and aims: PFAPA or marshall syndrome is a relatively new disease. The disease is known to be with a set of symptoms, included periods of fever, aphthous stomatitis, sore throat and swollen lymph glands. Disease onset is usually before age 5 and improved in most cases until age of majority. Recently it has been reported in adults. leucocytosis and serum sodium is seen during the attacks. Attacks of fever lasts for 3-6 days. Return attacks is 3 to 8 weeks. Acute phase of the disease can be treated with a single dose of prednisolone 1-2 mg/kg. Also it is used prophylaxis with colchicines for attacks of fever. The disease is limited in most cases, and usually improved without complication. Case report: In this report referred to 27-year-old man with a diagnosis of Marshall syndrome from 8 years ago periodically had fever, chills, sore throat and aphthous stomatitis. Signs and symptoms immediately following administration of a single dose of prednisone were reduced. In the next attack, patient was treated with this medication. Conclusion: This report is important because this is a very rare syndrome, and in addition, not to response to treatment common pharyngitis, more is needed to detect it.
