Doctor in Education (EDD): trends in world-class universities contexted in international academic rankings

Popis: | This article aims to identify if the Education Doctorade (EdD) are courses regulary offered by the main universities of the world and to analyze the trends of this type of doctorate in so-called WorldClass Universities (WCU). It was identified and analyzed proposals of EdD of nineteen important WCU that stood out in three rankings. From the exploratory, analytical-descriptive research in the field of Comparative Education, there were nine major trends, emphasizing that the offer of DPE is a common practice in WCU that offer academic doctorates, mainly directed to the training of professionals for senior management positions for schools, universities, and / or governments, with EdD emerging in the field of educational leadership. |
