This research was carried out during the period September - December 2015 in a production unit of melon and pepper in Butare, Colina municipality of Falcón state, with the objective of determining the incidence of pests in the areas of melon and pepper in the area study. Two lots of land of 1000 m2 were selected for each crop. The determination of insect pests present in the crops was carried out by means of weekly monitoring following the methodology of Calvo (1996). Identif ications of each pest were made and the number of individuals per plant was recorded. Crop of the melon and pepper in the locality of Butare are affected by the white fly, the leaf pin, the thrips and the pirero worm. In the Butare area the control of the pests in the melon and pepper crops it is done only with hemicals. |
