Designing Lab Experiments Based on Constructivist Approach: A Junior-High Preservice Science Teachers’ Case

Popis: The aim of the current study was to find out to what extend junior-high preservice science teachers' design their lab experiments according to the constructivist approach and also to find out their views on it. The participants of the study were 50 third year preservice teachers getting education in a state university in Istanbul. The data were collected through lab reports, an evaluation form for their lab rreports, and six open-ended questions related to their views on the design of the experiments. The data were analyzed qualitatively. The results showed that the preservice teachers' are in a high level in designing experiments constructively. The teachers said that designing experiments constructively is fun and fruitful. They also said that their views on lab experiments could only be designed in a traditional way have changed and they would like to design their classes following contructivist approach in the future.
