Popis: Early School Leaving is a social and individual problem which block up the personal, community and academic development of each students involved and the results for society is the lost of human capital. Focused in this reality, schools and, specifically, their professionals must anticipate the effects that this phenomenon entails, incorporating prevention as a strategic priority. With the aim of knowing the influence of the Social Work intervention in order to prevent early school leaving, the present study analyzes six cases of young people who were at risk of drop out from the educational system. After describing each case, the intervention developed by the Psychosocial Intervention Team of their schools is analyzed, taking into account the individual, family and social factors that influence this situation. The results show the effectiveness of preventive interventions carried out by Social Work professionals through individual, family and group care, as well as the coordination and teamwork.
