Popis: Paracoccidioidomycosis is a frequent systemic mycosis in the American continent, with major incidence in Latin America. In Brazil, the South, Southeast and Midwest regions are those with the highest number of cases. This disease mainly affects the male population linked to agricultural activities. The infection usually occurs by the inhalation of the dimorphic fungus Paracoccidioides brasiliensis, which acquires an infecting yeast form. Thus, the lungs and upper airways are the first affected sites. The spread occurs through the blood or lymphatic system, with consequent installation of quiescent focuses on different organs and systems. Thus, the paracoccidioidomycosis can be classified as acute, subacute or chronic, depending on its evolution and clinical status. This study aimed to present a clinical case of a chronic form of paracoccidioidomycosis, focusing on the differential diagnosis and on the peculiarities of the cutaneous involvement of this disease.
