| Popis: | Paper discusses the dilemmas encountered by adult educators when trying to prepare the contents of pro grammes intended for education for active citizenship. It tries to present the concept of citizenship, active citizenship, democracy and civil society. The paper speaks of dimensions of active citizenship and compares the aims of programmes developed within the PHARE Democracy Programme with the dimensions of citizenship as deter mined by the Dutch theoretician of this field, Ruud Veldhuis. |
