Popis: Aortic dissection (AD) is a common cardiovascular disease with cachets of urgent onset, rapid progress and high mortality, and may produce a series of cardiovascular system symptoms such as chest pain, back pain, as well as some neurological symptoms. Epilepsy is one of the neurological symptoms and an important cause of sudden death in young people. As an initial symptom of AD, epilepsy may make difficulties in diagnosis, thus increase the mortality of AD. Unfortunately, this situation is often disregarded by both doctors and patients. Therefore, the research progress of epilepsy caused by AD has been summarized in present paper including the related concepts, epidemiology, pathogenesis, classification, clinical symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy caused by AD.
