Popis: Known as one of the world's most important tourism center Antalya, as of 2019, $ 9.2 billion to Turkey's tourism income has been the province with the greatest overall contribution. Standing out in hotel tourism with the advantage of sea, sand, and sun, Antalya province actually offers great potential in terms of cruise tourism both with its location in the Mediterranean and its natural, historical and cultural wealth. However, it is observed that Antalya province cannot get the share it deserves from cruise tourism compared to other Mediterranean destinations. On the other hand, in 2007 within the scope of the tourism strategies announced by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism, it has come to the agenda to build a cruise port in Antalya in order to diversify tourism and increase tourism revenues. Even though important steps were taken towards the realization of the cruise port project by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, it was criticized by the local people and various non-governmental organizations, especially for the port location. This study evaluates the latest cruise port project within the framework of location selection criteria and responsible tourism. The restructuring of the Antalya cruise port in a way that does not impair the life quality of the city and local people and does not threaten future generations is important for the economic, social, and cultural interests of both Turkey and Antalya.
