Gladiolus hortulanus L. H. Bailey var. White Friendship, also known as palma-de-santa-rita, is a plant native to tropical Africa and South America used as ornamental. The aim of this study was to evaluate the development of Gladiolus hortulanus L. H. Bailey var. White Friendship with the use of different fertilizers. The study was conducted in a heated glasshouse (with Pad & Fan and ambient temperature of 25°C + / - 3, lux X10 = 7.16) of the Faculdade de Engenharia - UNESP, Ilha Solteira, in the period from 25th August to December 4th, 2007. We used four fertilizer, 3 gr each: Osmocote (19-06-10), NPK 04-14-08, Basacote Floranid 3M and N32, in a pot of 1.3 liters, filled with commercial substrate, Plantmax . We evaluated: number of flower buds, number of flowers, height of flower stem, perimeter of the flower stem, leaf chlorophyll content and analysis of macro and micronutrients in the leaves. It was concluded that for the standard commercial recommended by Cooperative Holambra (category III) and CEAGESP (category long) the best treatments were Basacote 3M and NPK 04-14-08. |
