Popis: The Turks contacted with different civilizations throughout history and adopted some cultural characteristics of relevant circles in those contacts. Certainly the same situation was repeated in universal religions in which Turks were included in time. Iran was one of the most important civilizations that influenced Turkish culture and traditional beliefs in historical process. Magianism (Mazdeism/Zoroastrianism) and Manichaeism were Persian religions which penetrated Turks earliest. In this manner it is problematic worth discussing to evaluate influence of ancient religions of Iran which Turks adopted before Islam on Turkish belief history. The gods like Hormuzta and Ezrua in old Turkish texts having Iranian origin names, existence of fire cult in both Iran and Turks, practice of cremation ritual of Mazdeism in some Turkish communities, existence of dualism in both Turkish mythological texts and Persian religions, influence of Persian religions on dualisms such as life-life in the hereafter , heaven-hell, angel-devil and sin-reward that continued to live in Turkish religious beliefs after adoption of Islam and finally Persian religious expressions such as fasting, prayer and ablution in our language are examples of mentioned interaction. This study pursuits some targets such as determining location of mentioned religions in which Turks were included before Islam on Turkish belief world, revealing characteristic of the related data in various aspects and sampling reflections of interaction in question.
