The component parts of the Moldovan wedding costume are the subject of ongoing investigation, in which the main research resource are museum collections, the results of field expeditions, identified photographs, less frequently – archives and samples of clothing or accessories. The necessity to study the Moldovan wedding costume is justified by the lack of specialized literature which would present this subject in detail and also result out of necessity to systemize the available information in several sources. Along with other objects of material culture, the articles and accessories of the wedding costume, required expertise, description, conservation, systematization and capitalization, as a part of the country’s cultural heritage. |
