Popis:	In the South-West Oltenia agriculture is an important resource, with over 1 million hectares for the cultivation of cereals (especially corn and wheat), oil plants (especially sunflower), vegetables (soy, peas, beans, tomatoes, cabbage, leek, onion) and fruit (apples, watermelon, melon, grapes) and potatoes. However, the productivity is inferior the productivity sector registered in EU countries due to insufficient technical equipment, small scale agricultural enterprises, which represent obstacles to effective development. Also, irrigation systems are underdeveloped.
