Popis: | The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the extent to which official surveys on household economics offer insight on the economic dynamics of households and specifically, the similarities and differences between men and women in regard to household economics. We present the results of a study examining methodological documents and questionnaires used for data collection for the Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC) and the Household Budget Survey (HBS), the two principal Spanish surveys on domestic economics. Analyses revealed the theoretical and methodological biases underlying the design of these two surveys, as well as data gaps and limitations occurring in their design and in the statistical analyses carried out based on their data. |
