Popis: The teaching of ancient Latin, which, in Brazil, occurs exclusively in university education has the challenge to introduce students in a couple of years to the study of a difficult language system and to the reading of an ancient literature that remained with great influence throughout the centuries. The most usual way of learning this idiom is the practice of translation exercises and, almost always, a Latin-Portuguese translational project guarantees the continuity of study in Graduate levels. This didactic and pedagogic practice has resulted in several translating works from Latin and it has promoted the access of Lusophone community to a renewed Antiquity. In order to provide an overview of the practices of young translators, I will consider in this paper two Master's final degree works from different Brazilian institutions, trying to point out translation approaches that flourish in the work of Brazilian students.
