Gut microbiota takes aim at regulating intestinal barrier and balancing various of metabolic activities in the body. Studies in recent years have found that the disorder of gut microbiota is involved with many diseases, which can destroy the mechanical barrier, microbial barrier and immunologic barrier of the gut and disturb the normal metabolism of the body at the same time. In the result, the bacteria and endotoxin translocation aggravate the systemic damage in the body which is one of the important factors of the mechanisms of heat stroke. This paper reviews that gut microbiota plays the role in the development of severe heat stroke and related treatment methods to provide a theoretical reference for use of gut microbiota in the treatment of severe heat stroke.
