Terrorism and International Trade Relations in the Middle East Countries

Popis: In this study, the effect of terrorism on international trade is examined by considering the countries of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Beginning in 1980 and especially since the 1990s, world trade has developed rapidly. Although, along with the important political and scientific developments towards the development of international trade in 1980 - 2016, the rapid increase in terrorist incidents has caused certain limitations in international trade. In the development of Internet and information technologies, it made trading much easier and faster. Particularly in the service trade between countries, they have grown very fast. Along with these positive developments, international terrorism has a negative effect on world trade. Between 1980 and 2016, there are important clues that the increase in terrorist incidents has led to a decline in commercial activity. This study analyzes whether terrorism affects the foreign trade of the Middle East and North African countries. During the 1980-2016 period, the sensitivity of foreign trade to terrorism was measured by the notion of flexibility, and terrorism has had some impact on international trade.
