Introduction. The paper presents the problem of occurrence and co-occurrence of the elements: titanium, lithium, molybdenum and strontium with physiological elements such as calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium in smoking and non-smoking inhabitants of Częstochowa and Bielsko-Biała districts. The aim of this study was to determine the level of accumulation and co-occurrence of Ti, Li, Mo, Sr, Ca, Mg, Na, K in deposits of the gallbladder in smokers and nonsmokers. Materials and methods. The content of these elements in gallbladder deposits obtained during cholecystectomy was assessed by means of inductive coupled plasma –atomic emission spectrometry (ICP – AES) with accuracy to 0,01 µg/g. Results. Comprehensive statistical data illustrate the occurrence of the selected elements in the mineral structure of gallstones in smoking and non-smoking people on the example of inhabitants of Częstochowa and Bielsko-Biała districts. Conclusions. The content of the investigated elements in deposits of the gallbladder was higher in the nonsmokers’ cholelit. |
