Popis: | Trabajo presentado en la 8th Regional Meeting of Sedimentology, celebrada en Túñez del 1 al 3 de abril de 1987. In the northwestern part of the Jaén region, marine diatomites and diatomaceous deposits of Upper Mioceneage occur. The studied outcrops are placed in the Guadalquivir basin, a postorogenic marginal basin, but in three different geological settings: 1 ) Miocene materials filling a small basin bordering the External lones of the Betic mountains{Martos section, ); 2) Olistostromic materials mainly of Subbetic provenance (Porcuna section, and; 3) Northern autochtonous postorogenic materials (Mengíbar and Andújar sections) Keywords:diatomite, foraminiferal limestones, geochemistry, Early Tortonian . |
