[EN] Pollution is contamination by chemical or other agents that renders part of the environment unfit for intended or desired use. An increasing number of vehicles has also lead to an increase in air pollution, due to the harmful gases like Carbon Monoxide emitted from these vehicles. Cars damage our environment by the emissions released from the combustion system of an automobile. These emissions effect our environment and do damage through the greenhouse effect. Toxic gases weaken the atmosphere allowing for more infrared rays to enter. Having more infrared rays absorbed on the Earth warms the Earth, raising the temperature causing certain vegetation life to die off and the snow caps to melt. Carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide are two greenhouse gases that damage our Earth's atmosphere. Reducing the amount of these greenhouse gases will greatly help to reduce these effects. In addition to all of that, petroleum products are getting scarcer and more expensive in the future. One really good solution for this problem is electric power that can be the key for sustainable individual mobility. It is a clean and renewable energy. Mainly by advances in battery technology first electric cars begin to be available since a few years, but are still too expensive. The problem of the availability of electric vehicles for the public is not yet solved by these vehicles.
