Popis: | Polyurethane has a Young’s modulus three orders of magnitude lower than silica and can be stretched up to 600%. We report the fabrication of polyurethane optical fibers for applications from THz to the visible. We exploit its elastic properties to generate orbital angular momentum modes, to make pressure sensors and to realize tunable metamaterials by co-drawing polyurethane with poly(methyl methacrylate) and indium. |
