| Popis: | The period of 2010-2014 at the Vilnius University Library (hereafter VU Library) was marked by significant changes of physical infrastructure that influenced development of quality services to the academic community, intensive project activities and strengthening of the Library position as a dependable partner. Two huge infrastructural projects \"Reconstruction of the old Vilnius University Library\" and \"National Open Access Scholarly Communication and Information Centre\" implemented during this period, wasa challenge for the Library staff that became encouraged to reconsider the package of information services, organizational structure, to apply new mode of the staff management.Integration of the faculty libraries, automatization of various operations, development of virtual services, implementation of activities with involvement of the Library users, cooperative creation of collective products was instrumental in effective management of the organization. Activiry directions incorporated into the organizational structure - implementation of innovations, project work, strengthening of research in the field of cultural heritage - became key strategical provisions of VU Library. Library users gave the Library credit for quality services, renewed and amplified physical and information infrastructure, unanimous culture of services and in all its subdivisions. In 2013 and 2014 the Library had over 1 million visitors per year. |
