VERIFICATION OF THE HYPOTHESIS REGARDING THE HOMOGENEITY OF GEOTECHNICAL MEDIUMS AT THE 'SOOT FACTORY / ČAĐARA' LOCATION IN KUTINA

Popis: Iz geotehničkih istraživanja za izgradnju dva industrijska objekta blizu Kutine (Tvornica umjetnih gnojiva II i Čađara II) proizašlo je, za naše prilike, mnoštvo podataka – pokazatelja svojstava inženjerskog tla. Radi upoznavanja stanja geniteta u poluprostoru ispod objekata pristupilo se provjeri hipoteze o homogenosti a priori usvojenih geotehničkih sredina i o njihovoj geotehničkoj sličnosti. Dvije razmatrane sredine su u superpozicijskom odnosu, litološki su slične, ali genetski različite. Prikazane su inženjerskogeološkim modelom dubinskog dosega 40 m. Nakon osnovne statističke obrade podataka za identifikacijske, fizičke i mehaničke parametre i uporabe nekoliko statističkih testova mogla se, na osnovi statističkih zaključaka, donijeti inženjerska prosudba. Došlo se do spoznaje da su dvije geotehničke sredine svaka za sebe u statističkom smislu uglavnom homogene, odnosno inženjerski «kvazihomogene». Međusobna usporedba sredina pokazala je da ne postoji statistički bitna razlika između njih po određenim geotehničkim parametrima. Dakle, prihvatljivo je objedinjavanje superpozicijski smještenih sredina u fizički jedinstven poluprostor ispod objekata.
A great deal of data which determine the characteristics of engineering soils was collected in the course of geotechnical explorations conducted for the purpose of building two industrial objects near Kutina (Tvornica umjetnih gnojiva / Artificial fertilizer factory II and Soot Factory II/ Čađara II). Wishing to familiarize ourselves with the condition of homogeneity/heterogeneity underneath the object, we decided to check the hypothesis regarding the homogeneity of the a priori acquired geotechnical mediums and their geotechnical similarity. The relationship of the two mediums under observation is superpositional, they are lithologically similar but genetically different. They are represented through an engineering geological model reaching the depth of forty meters. Following the basic statistical data analysis for identification, geotechnical parameters and the use of several statistical tests, we were able to reach an engineering judgment on the basis of statistical conclusions. We realized that, from a statistical point of view, both geotechnical mediums are mostly homogenous or, speaking from the engineering point of view, ''quasi-homogenous''. The comparison of these two mediums showed that there is no statistically significant difference according to certain geotechnical parameters of geotechnical parameters. It follows, therefore, that the unification of the superpositioned mediums in a physically united halfspace located under the object is acceptable.
