Many maritime mapping tasks are todaycarried out by large research ships, which arevery costly to operate. As a way to overcome this,a number of small surveying vessels have been developedcalled AAUSHIP. In order to efficiently mapthe an area with such smaller vessels, it is importantthat several vessels are able to corporate on thetask at hand. In this paper, the developed formationcontrol strategy for the AAUSHIP series of vesselsis presented, along with simulation results, whichconfirms, that the algorithm works as intended. |
