Analizirani uzorci fermentiranih travnih masa (n=149) s 10 OPG-a ukazuju na nisku kvalitetu i visoku varijabilnost svih kemijskih parametara, odnosno hranjive vrijednosti analiziranih uzoraka. Ensiling is a process of green plant material storage under anaerobic conditions suitable for the development and activity of microorganisms fermenting vegetable carbohydrates into organic acids. In that way, the acidity of the plant mass is increased and the forage is conserved in the form of grass silage or haylage. The hypothesis of this graduate paper was that the grass silages produced on family farms were of medium to good nutritional quality. The aim was to predict the nutritive quality by NIR spectroscopy of grass silage samples (n=149) collected on 10 family farms. The samples were analyzed in the Grassland Research Center of the Faculty of Agriculture in terms of: dry matter (DM), corrected DM, crude proteins (CP), degradable CP, neutral detergent fiber (NDF), metabolic energy (ME), acidity (pH), ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N), organic matter (OM), sugar residuals and the digestibility of OM in DM (D-value). The results indicate low quality of and high variability in all chemical components thus nutritive values of analysed samples.
