Na otoku Visu u razdoblju od 2002. godine do 2006. godine provedeno je istraživanje brzine rasta i veličine područja doma kod vrste Hemidactylus turcicus (kućni macaklin). 21 lokacija na otoku Visu obilažena je jednom mjesečnom tokom cijele godine. Jedinke su lovljene tijekom jutra, dana, večeri i noći pri čemu su razlikovane odrasle i mlade jedinke. Dobiveni rezultati pokazuju da postoji značajna razlika u brzini rasta mladih i odraslih jedinki te da postoji značajna razlika u brzini rasta kod mužjaka i ženki. Isto tako, rezultati pokazuju da kućni macaklin ima uvijek isto područje doma, veličine do 40 metara, koje ne napušta osim u ekstremnim situacijama kada je primoran potražiti novo područje doma. On the island Vis, in the period from 2002 to 2006, a research has been conducted on Hemidactylus turcicus about rate of growth and magnitude of home-range area. The research has been conducted at 21 location on island Vis once per month throughout the whole year. They were being captured in the morning, during the day, at nightfall and during the night where we differentiated adult from juvenile individuales. Results showed that there is a significant divergence in growth rate between juvenile and adult individuales, as well as between males and females. Results also show us that H. turcicius has the same home-range area, extending to 40 meters, which it never leaves except in extreme situations when it needs to find new home-range area. |
