This milestone, M1.1, sets the scene for the research carried out in Task 1.2. The purpose is to identify policies and socio-economic impacts of relevance to CONSERN. This milestone further aims to lay the foundation for the 'high-level market and impact assessment' of D1.2, thus it will contribute to: (1) contextualising the development of energy efficient heterogeneous wireless networks into current energy and sustainability issues, industrial strategies and government policies, particularly on EU level and applied to the ICT sector; (2) identifying potential non-technical drivers, bottlenecks and opportunities for energy efficiency; (3) identifying the most important impacts of energy efficient cognitive systems on policy objectives and socio-economic variables. |
