Effect of the filtered feedback on the memory capacity in a photonic reservoir computer

Popis: International audience; We study the performance of a photonic reservoir computer based on a semiconductor laser with high-and low-pass filtered optoelectronic feedback. We find that the decrease of the low-pass filter cutoff frequency while limiting the system's bandwidth increases the system's memory capacity. We analyze the eigenvalue spectrum of the system and find the correlation between the distance from the imaginary axis to the nearest eigenvalue and the memory capacity of the reservoir computer.
