Popis: | Tesis (M. Sc) -- CATIE, Turrialba (Costa Rica), 2012 It is well known that fragmentation not only reduces the total amount of habitat available, but also simultaneously isolates the habitat that remains, preventing movement of organisms and processes in previously connected landscapes. Home-range sizes, movements, density, and apparent survival for individual species remains almost entirely unknown for Neotropical birds especially in fragmented landscapes. Likewise, effects of the agricultural matrix on these variables have been little studied and this information is required for conservation planning. We estimated home-range sizes, movements, density, and apparent survival of Chestnut-backed Antibird (Myrmeciza exsul), an understory insectivorous bird with limited dispersal |
