Popis: Osnovna tema rada je europski navigacijski sustav Galileo koji je nastao prije svega kao konkretan i jasan odgovor zemalja Europe na ostale konkurentne navigacijske sustave, pri čemu se prvotno misli na američki navigacijski sustav poznatiji pod skraćenicom GPS. Razvojem vlastitog pokušava se stvoriti novo neovisno tržište i olakšati sveopća i svakodnevna uporaba navigacijskog sustava zbog sve češćih zahtjeva pozicioniranja. Sustav određivanja lokacija i navigacije postao je prisutan u gotovo svim sferama života, a bilo koji oblik putovanja postao je nezamisliv bez kvalitetnih satelitskih uputa koje korisnik najčešće dobiva preko malog ekrana odnosno zaslona na svojim mobitelima ili recimo automobilima. Međutim primjena navigacijskog sustava iznimno je opsežna i puno veća od samo ove namijenjene građanima. Tako će se u radu dotaknuti osnova svemirske navigacije i one putem satelita, ali će se jedno posebno poglavlje posvetiti i znanstveniku po kojemu je ovaj sustav dobio ime, a to je Galileo Galilei. Osim toga objasnit će se način funkcioniranja Galileo navigacijskog sustava i njegova usporedba s drugim sustavima. Na kraju će se dati smisleni zaključak svega napisanog i potvrditi ili opovrgnuti navedene hipoteze rada.
The main topic of the paper is the European navigation system Galileo, which was created primarily as a concrete and clear response of European countries to other competitive navigation systems, originally referring to the American navigation system better known by the abbreviation GPS. Developing its own is trying to create a new independent market and facilitate the universal and everyday use of the navigation system due to the increasing positioning requirements. The system of determining locations and navigation has become present in almost all spheres of life, and any form of travel has become unthinkable without quality satellite directions that the user usually receives through a small screen or screen on their mobile phones or cars. However, the application of the navigation system is extremely extensive and much larger than only that intended for citizens. Thus, the paper will touch on the basics of space navigation and that via satellite, but a special chapter will be dedicated to the scientist after whom this system was named, and that is Galileo Galilei. In addition, the operation of the Galileo navigation system and its comparison with other systems will be explained. In the end, a meaningful conclusion of everything written will be given and the stated hypotheses of the paper will be confirmed or refuted.
