| Popis: | La trucha arco iris (Oncorhynchus mykiss) es un predador visual que selecciona a sus presas según la talla y el color. Ejerce un efecto negativo en las comunidades y ecosistemas invadidos en las que son introducidas. El objetivo de este trabajo es examinar la dieta de otoño de la trucha arco iris en el arroyo Sacanana, ambiente característico de la estepa patagónica. Los taxones más frecuentemente consumidos por la trucha arco iris son de origen bentónico (Amphipoda, Chironomidae, Ceratopoginidae, Simulidae, Trichoptera, y Baetidae, entre otros) y con una menor incidencia de fauna de deriva. Las poblaciones de trucha arco iris en ríos de bajo orden muestran diferentes estrategias y una gran flexibilidad en el nicho trófico. Este oportunismo en su estrategia trófica le ha permitido a este salmónido colonizar diferentes tipos de ambientes acuáticos de la región Patagónica. The rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is a visual predator that chooses its prey on the basis of color and size. It constitutes a negative effect in the natural communities in which were introduced. The aim of the present paper is to examine the autumn diet of this species at the Sacanana stream, in the Patagonian Steppe. The more frequent prey items are benthonic invertebrates (Amphipoda, Chironomidae, Ceratopoginidae, Simulidae, Trichoptera, and Baetidae, among others), with some vagrant taxa. The populations of rainbow trout in small rivers and streams indicate that this species is a generalist predator, with a resilient trophic niche. The opportunistic-diet behavior of the species may have allowed this salmonid to spread along freshwater environments of Patagonia. Fil: Ferriz, Ricardo Alberto.
