Popis: This 2022 marks the 90th anniversary of the operation of the Turó de l’Home meteorological observatory, which began its observations on November 19, 1932, thanks to the initiative of both Dr. Fontserè and the Meteorological Service of Catalonia, on the occasion of the Second Polar Year. But the observatory was actually an old dream of the academic Joan Montserrat, who in 1880 tried to found the Catalan Association of Scientific Excursions, and among its members especially Artur Osona, although without success. Some of the observers have left their mark on the hill, such as the couple Josep Gil and Maria Oliveres, Josep Bordas, Fernando Garcia de Castro, Miquel Meseguer Garcia de Castro and Nydia Figueres. The observatory officially ceased operations in 2001, and in 2010 the Meteorological Service of Catalonia set up an automatic weather station very close to the Turó de l'Home, at Puig Sesolles, the former military installations that had been built in 1974.
