Popis: | This article describes the actions of project "Teacher Training in Indigenous History and Culture" developed by Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul in the municipality of Naviraí, Brazil, in the years 2012, 2013 and 2016, as well as analyzes some of its results that have benefited the regional society. The project is made possible by resources of the Rectory of Extension, Culture and Student Issues of Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul. It is coordinated by the author of this text in the form of a face-toface course and promotes lectures given by specialized researchers in the subject of indigenous people - some of them representing these peoples - to teachers of the elementary school up to high school education and students of undergraduate courses. The objective is to train knowledge multipliers trained to act in the classroom, addressing children and young people, issues such as: the contributions of the natives in the formation of the Brazilian nation, the current indigenous reality and the importance of the Amerindian people in the social and cultural diversity of the country and the state. Among the goals are the deconstruction of racial prejudices and the encouragement of respectful dialogue about differences. The project contributes to the application of the teaching of History and Indigenous Culture in schools as recommended by Brazilian Law 11.645/2008. Here we present some of the results of the project, based on reports from course participants describing professional experiences in which they applied knowledge obtained in their participation in the project. |
