Bed bugs (Heteroptera) represent one of the most diverse groups of insects. There are about 40 000 known and described species, which are of great importance in agricultural production. Depending on the feeding behaviour, there are two distinguishable kinds of bed bugs: phytophagous (which are harmful) and zoophagous (many of which are useful species that serve as a biological method to control other pests). The aim of this research was to determine the presence of the population of bedbugs (Heteroptera) in organic and intensive olive and grapevine plantations in Zadar County. The research was conducted from the beginning of May to October 2018. The method of pitfall traps, as well as the shaking method, was used to collect fauna. A total of 110 specimens were collected, of which 22 species belonging to 10 different families. The most numerous family is Lygaeidae (39), while the Berytidae family is represented by only one specimen. The most common species is Pyrrhocoris apterus (Linnaeus, 1758). The largest number of species (43) was collected in the ecological vineyard and the least (4) in the ecological olive grove.
