Balanced diet and regular physical activity are inseparable components of a children`s physical development from an early age. The objective of this work was to assess whether there is a difference in the intake of food groups and specific foodstuffs among primary school children with different physical activity levels. The survey was conducted on a sample of 297 children from Karlovac County. Online questionnaire consisted of four parts: general data, KIDMED questionnaire, Food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) and The Physical Activity Questionnaire for Older Children (PAQ-C). The participants were divided into groups of low, medium, and high physical activity level. Considering the results obtained from KIDMED index and the Food frequency questionnaire, participants with high level of physical activity have more desirable dietary habits (higher intake of milk and dairy products, fruit, vegetables, fats and oils, and lower intake of sweet and salty snacks, cookies and especially pizza) in comparison with participants with low physical activity level.
